J.S. Bach: Cantata 156: Ich steh mit einem Fuß im Grabe ("I stand with one foot in the grave")


Cantata 156 was written for the third Sunday after Epiphany in 1729. A biblical passage that was read on that day tells the story of Christ healing a leper, depicted in this illustration by Jan Luyken. The Cantata employs chorale melodies in two of its movements.
